The Les Portes du Soleil project started in 1964 when a model for connecting Swiss and French resorts was presented at the Lausanne National Exhibition. The seeds of the first cross-border ski domain has been sown and, a few years later, the domain would become a reality thanks to these connections. Today, the domain includes twelve interlinked resorts, 600 km of slopes, 200 ski lifts, 300 slopes and 30 specially designed park areas: snow parks, ski cross, boardercross. In this way, from the hotel, guests have access to a vast outdoor playground where you can ski from one resort to another, one valley to another and even one country to another.
On the French side, Les Portes du Soleil covers two valleys: Aulps and Val d’Abondance. The first is home to the resort of Les Gets, but also Montriond, Morzine, Avoriaz and Saint-Jean d'Aulps. Using the ski lifts and slopes, it doesn’t take very long to reach the pretty villages of Morzine and Saint-Jean-d'Aulps, the snow park at Avoriaz or, in Montriond, the Abricotine - one of the longest slopes in the domain, at 8 km. In Val d’Abondance, you will find the resorts of Abondance, Châtel and La Chapelle d'Abondance, known for the quality of their ski slopes, but also their rich cultural heritage and fine cuisine.
You can also set off on an excursion using the ski lifts - a snow shoe trek, cross-country skiing, take to the skies para-gliding or on a dog sled ride... There’s something for all the family!
Between Lake Léman and Mont-Blanc, the resort of Les Gets has preserved its typical Savoie mountain village identity. The quality and diversity of its ski domain and its activities make it the perfect place for a family holiday.
During the summer period, Les Gets offers some of the most impressive mountain biking facilities in the Alps with 90 km of marked tracks. You can also enjoy the magnificent surroundings of the village on a trek, over a round of golf (just 800 m from the hotel) and while taking part in many other activities.
In winter, the resort of Les Gets boasts over 120 km of slopes to enjoy your activity of choice: downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, skijoring, snow boot trekking, luge... The village provides access to Les Portes du Soleil, one of the world’s largest ski domains.
Right by Les Gets and the hotel, discover the authentic mountain village of Morzine, nestling in the midst of a pine forest. In winter, you will find a warm welcome in the charming resort of Avoriaz, perched at an altitude of 1,800 m.
